Mallín Colorado Ecolodge
4 hours south of Coyhaique along the iconic South American Carretera Austral (Southern Highway) - and perched high and protected from the wind above the stunning, impossible blue of Lake General Carrera - lies Mallín Colorado Ecolodge.
Owned and run by the 7 brothers and sisters of the Christensen family (there is always one of them present as well as the resident manager), the lodge is set in 550 hectares with 15 km’s of its own trails, and offers accommodation in private cabins and en suite rooms with beautiful lake views.
Personalised service is complimented by delicious home cooking with local and seasonal ingredients. Many different excursions can be organised - the 3 must do’s are the Marble Caves, the confluence of the River Baker and hiking or riding up above the lodge for native forest of ñirres, coigues and lengas and incredible views of the Cordón Contreras glaciers and Lake Bertrand.
