Estancia Cristina, Lago Argentino
On the shores of Lago Argentino, close to the Patagonia ice-fields
and at the base of Cerro Norte, nestles Estancia Cristina. Founded
in 1914 by the Englishman Joseph Percival Masters and accessed
only by boat, Cristina is a monument to the pioneer spirit and
an ideal base to experience the surrounding area.
Architecture is typical of a Patagonian estancia, three cottages
each have 4 comfortable en suite rooms. Special attention has
gone into the food; chef Lorena Papasergio creates dishes using
the best meats, lamb, cheeses and smoked products, complemented
by an extensive wine list.
Estancia Cristina offers an excursion menu for the Adventure Tourism
activities, organised and supervised by experts Mil Outdoor (4X4
excursion) and Fitz Roy Expediciones (hiking and horse-riding).
