6–7 hours from Puerto Maldonado is the Tambopata Research Centre an 18-room lodge close to the truly incredible spectacle of the world’s largest known macaw clay lick, located in a large, uninhabited portion of Tambopata Reserve Zone.

The central concept is that tourism, research and conservation work together, indeed positively compliment each other.
