Tambopata
Research Centre
Rainforest Expeditions 18 room lodge close to the truly
incredible spectacle of the worlds largest known macaw clay
lick. The Tambopata National Reserve is an incredibly diverse
area and the Research Centre is located in a large, uninhabited
portion of it. As the lodges name suggests, the central
concept is that tourism, research and conservation work together,
indeed positively compliment each other. This symbiotic relationship
has proved a great success since the lodges inauguration
in 1989.
Guest accommodation is simple and comfortable with shared facilities,
the emphasis is on the jungle and learning experience which is
superb naturalist guides and researchers accompany you
on the trails, imparting their knowledge of the forest and its
denizens. http://www.perunature.com/trc01.asp
