Patagonia Camp

Patagonia Camp is an out of the ordinary all-inclusive wilderness lodge in Chilean Patagonia, cradled within a vast tract of private land on the forested shores of Lake Toro and offering amazing views of Los Cuernos in Torres del Paine National Park. 23 heated luxury yurts sit lightly on raised decks, placing guests at the very edge of wilderness while still providing the safety, comfort, and personalised service of a high end hotel. Whether you’re stargazing from your private terrace or returning from a small-group trek or kayak, Patagonia Camp delivers an intimate connection with nature, without ever compromising on creature comforts.

A wide variety of active excursions are on offer, complemented in all things by attentive, personalised service and fine cuisine as well as pioneering sustainability initiatives.

On my arrival to Patagonia Camp, I was greeted like a long-lost friend - a sentiment that lasted for the entirety of my stay, and which every staff member seemed to effortlessly embody. The whole place felt like stepping into another world of wonders and comfort. The spacious comfortable yurts, hidden in amongst the native trees offer sanctuary - where you can lie and listen to the natural sounds of the Patagonian wilderness, many with views across to the national park. But when relaxing at the bar, or sampling one of the many delicious dishes in the restaurant overlooking the lake, the gentle approach of the staff and service is also reflected in the moods of the guests - making it all feel like a very happy place to be. I spent my days hiking the different trails within the territory of the hotel, marvelling at the fact that, in mid-January, I had them all to myself. They feature hidden waterfalls, peaceful lakeside beaches and panoramic view points to gaze towards the Torres del Paine massif. Patagonia Camp offers a ideal mix of tranquility and thirst for adventure in one of the most beautiful places in the world.

Need to know:

Luxury individually-controlled centrally heated yurts have large bathrooms, stargazing domes and extraordinary views towards Torres del Paine. 10 have private jacuzzis. This is something altogether more luxurious than ‘glamping’ where there is a real feel of connection to nature and the surroundings.

Not all yurts have an uninterrupted view of the lake and massif. In keeping with their ethos of not cutting any trees down…there are naturally yurts which have restricted views and some which just point to hills and forest.

Patagonia Camp lies within a 34,000-hectare private estate on Lake Toro, offering seclusion and high levels of privacy compared to lodges inside the park

Flexible all-inclusive shared or private programmes, large choice of excursions on offer with fabulous guides

Kids over 10 (only) are welcomed to this quiet, nature based retreat, featuring raised walkways

The food will blow your socks off (says Simon after his visit) – chefs Brian and Javiera produce “locally-inspired, gastronomic works of art”

Wellness – book in advance for an amazing massage therapist to come to your yurt

Perfect for:

Luxury adventure travellers seeking immersive, off-the-grid Patagonian exploration with comfort, incredible food, privacy and a strong sense of place.
