Estancia Cerro Guido, Chile – lessons in co existence

In the far south of Chile an innovative Patagonian project demonstrates just how succesful and vital the intersection is of fabulous holidays alongside (and dependent upon) the conservation of culture, farming and biodiversity.

Simon and Nicola visited this working estancia – that sprawls over 107,000 hectares of epic steppe and mountain landscapes bordering Torres del Paine National Park – on 2 occasions in early 2026 and here they meet some of the wonderfully hospitable Chileans that form part of the Estancia Cerro Guido team and alongside it the Foundation.

Lessons in Co-existence. At the Cerro Guido Foundation, natural and cultural heritage are inseperable; harmony protects lives and livelihoods for future generations. “We strive to carry this legacy forward by encouraging a respectful coexistence between human activity and the species that inhabit the ecosystems of the territory.”
