Gocta Natura Reserve

Gocta Natura Reserve is dedicated to environmental protection and restoration, with a strong focus on reforestation efforts that help preserve the habitat of endangered species. Nestled within six hectares of lush forest, six thoughtfully designed cabins offer guests a tranquil retreat surrounded by native trees, bromeliads, and orchids. Visitors can enjoy birdwatching and may even spot night monkeys from their private decks. Guests are invited to explore the grounds which feature a small pool (the Pond), visit the Botanic Garden, or take trails to the Gocta River, immersing themselves in the region’s rich biodiversity.

Beyond its natural beauty, B Corp certified Gocta Natura Reserve is committed to introducing guests to the rich heritage of the Chachapoya culture. Currently under consideration as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Chachapoya legacy spans nine archaeological sites dating from 500 to 1500 AD, offering a glimpse into a pre-Columbian civilization yet to be fully discovered. Their Context Itineraries program provides curated, well-informed experiences, allowing guests to deeply connect with this remarkable history.

The lodge’s facilities are designed for both relaxation and enrichment. La Casa features a cosy social space with a bar, fireplace, and library, while the Main Deck offers breathtaking views of the Gocta waterfall. Guests can enjoy wood-fired meals in the Tutamono Dining Room, unwind by the pool, or explore the lush gardens where fresh fruits and vegetables are grown using sustainable methods. With a deep respect for both nature and culture, Gocta Natura Reserve strives to create unforgettable experiences while fostering meaningful relationships for all.

Senderos Soul

The cloud forest always resembles something magical and mysterious to me, with any number of species of plants growing together competing for space and light, but all fed by constant moisture in the air. The rich coloured ferns, waxy bromeliads, delicate orchids and tall palms all play a part in holding together this amazing eco-system. When you can see all this from the deck of your lodge and with one of the world's tallest waterfalls in the distance, it is a view that is hard to beat. These natural surroundings compliment the lodge so well, particularly when it comes to mealtimes - where perfectly curated dishes made with the freshest ingredients grown either on site or in nearby smallholdings, are presented in the al fresco dining areas. Chachapoyas is known for it's warm people, hospitality and rich natural landscapes and you feel like all of that is present here at Gocta Natura Reserve.
